From the Bay to Berlin

Hi, I'm Lauren.

I grew up in the Bay Area, where movement was just part of the fabric of life — hiking before school, farmers markets on Saturdays, the assumption that taking care of your body was ordinary, not aspirational. Strength training found me in my early twenties and never let go.

Then I moved to Berlin, had a child, and discovered what a foundation of real physical strength actually means when life gets heavy.

The gym stopped being about aesthetics. It became the one hour in the day that was entirely mine — where I could put down the mental load, move my body with intention, and walk out feeling like myself again. That shift in how I understood training became the philosophy behind Strong Roots. I've been training seriously for over ten years, with a particular obsession with posterior chain work — glutes, hamstrings, the whole foundation — which is where my passion for women's strength programming really took root.

To me, strong roots means two things. Physically, it's about building from the ground up — a strong posterior chain, powerful glutes and legs — not for how it looks, but for what it does: longevity, pelvic health, a body that carries you through decades rather than just seasons. Mentally, it's about using movement as your daily anchor. In a city as fast and full as Berlin, that hour matters more than most people allow themselves to believe.

I'm a certified personal trainer based in Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg, and I work exclusively with women. I know this city, I know what it asks of you, and I know what it feels like to build a life here from scratch. My job is to help you build the physical foundation to meet all of it — not just today, but for good.

I’d love to hear from you
